Are We Pizza Criminals?
As cool as it sounds, we have to get this straight. The name "Desperado" is definitely americanized. If you were to do a light browse online, you would find that the word "desperado" is derived from the Spanish word "desesperado" which basically means hopeless. Unsurprisingly, the word was shortened to Desperado and used in the American West to describe people who boldly ignored rules, committed crimes, or other criminal acts.
You know its kinda funny that we used this for one of "Vaqueros" seasonal pies because we have been accused countless times of committing pizza crimes (there's even a subreddit for pizza crimes!!!). However, we do live in a world where you have to be vigilant about the validity of information that you see online and ultimately it comes down to what you think.
This begs the question... Is it really a pizza crime if the pizza tastes good? We don't think so, but you should be the judge!
Desperado:
A beef gravy, topped with mozzarella, braised beef, pickled red onion, jalapeno, and queso casero.
The Desperado is a part of our Summer Seasonal Menu entitled "Vaqueros" available for a limited time.
See you soon.
